Transfers

This page allows you to transfer hours from your balance to another member of the community. This is a great way to show appreciation, help a friend, or settle an informal exchange.

How to Transfer Hours

The transfer process is straightforward:

1. Choose the Recipient: Either enter the recipient member's email address, or open transfer from a public user profile where the recipient is already selected.
2. Select the Amount: Choose from a dropdown in 0.25-hour increments.
3. Click "Transfer": The system will then process your request.

Important Rules for Transfers

• You cannot transfer hours to yourself.
• Both you and the recipient must be active members.
• You must have enough spendable hours to complete the transfer.
• The amount dropdown only shows values up to your spendable hours (total balance minus reserved hours), rounded down to the nearest 0.25 hour. If spendable hours are below 0.25, no amount options are shown.
• Examples: balance 1.00 shows 0.25, 0.5, 0.75, 1.00. Balance 1.20 still shows only up to 1.00.

After the Transfer

If the transfer is successful, the hours will be deducted from your balance and added to the recipient's balance immediately. A record of the transaction will appear in both of your transaction histories.
