Services
This topic focuses on the main pages used to search, create, manage, and view service listings.
Search for a Service
The Search page allows you to find public services offered by other members. You can also save your search criteria for future use.
Search Criteria
- Saved Searches: You can save your current search criteria with a name for easy reuse, and apply, update, or delete your saved searches.
- Saved-search reset: If you select "Select a saved search", the form resets to defaults (Mode = Any, and your profile country/city), and other filters are cleared.
- Saved-search notifier: You can select one saved search (or none) for automatic weekly checks every Monday (UTC). If matches are found, one email lists all found services with links.
- Mode: Choose between "Any", "Online", or "In Person".
- Location: Select the country and, if applicable, the city where the service is offered.
- Category: Select category and subcategory together when you want category-based matching.
- Keywords: You can search for keywords in the service title or description.
- User Intent: Provide a more detailed description of what you are looking for to find more relevant services.
- Validation rule: If category and subcategory are not both selected, AI intent or title/description keyword is required. Any provided text must be at least 3 characters.
- Minimum Rating: Filter services by the provider's minimum rating.
- Pricing: Filter by "All", "Paid Only", or "Free Only" services (if available).
Search Results
The results are displayed in a grid, showing key information about each service. Each result links to the service's detail page, and you can also view session comments for a service directly from the search results.
Create a New Service
The Service New page is where you create a new public service listing.
Service Details
- Mode: Specify if the service is "Online", "In Person", or "Any".
- Location: Country is required. City is optional and indicates where you are most likely based. For online services, users do not need to be in the same city.
- Category: Choose the appropriate category and subcategory.
- Title: A clear and concise title for your service (max 100 characters).
- Description: A detailed description of what you offer (max 2000 characters).
- Moderation: Service titles and descriptions are moderated and cannot include hateful or discriminatory content targeting people or groups, sexual content, medical offers, financial transactions, violence, terrorism, illegal activity, profane language, or services for children or minors. Requestor and provider comments on service requests are also checked against these safety rules.
- Free Service: You may have the option to offer the service for free.
- You can also copy the details from one of your existing services to create a new one quickly.
After you create a service, it may take 5-15 minutes for that service to appear in service searches.
Manage My Services
The My Services page lists all the services you offer and provides management actions for each one.
Actions
- Filter by Status: You can view "Active", "Inactive", or "All" of your services.
- Display: View the public listing for your service.
- Edit: Modify the details of your service.
- Copy: Create a new service based on an existing one.
- Deactivate/Activate: Temporarily hide or show your service to others. You can deactivate a service when it is active and you want to stop receiving new requests. You can activate it again later if you want to make it visible again. This action is not available for services that are already inactive or for services you do not own.
- Delete: Permanently remove a service. This is allowed only for services you own, and it is typically blocked if the service is currently in use, linked to active requests, or otherwise protected by the system. Deleted services cannot be restored, so use this action only when you are sure the listing should be removed completely.
After you update, activate, deactivate, or delete a service, search results may take 5-15 minutes to reflect the change.
